Thursday, October 7, 2010 at 4:35PM Training for the new group of first responders is set to begin, with the first session taking place at 7.30pm on Wednesday 13th October at Barbon Village Hall. The training will comprise two-hour weekly sessions covering a nine-week period, culminating with the paramedic assessment on the 10th week. During that time references and CRB checks will be completed and the informal chat from an NWAS representative will be arranged. The sensitive and confidential side of being a responder is dealt with at the end of training.
The dates and venues for training are as follows:
Weds 13th October – Barbon Village Hall
Weds 20th October – Casterton Village Hall
Tuesday 26th October – Rugby Club, K-L
Weds 3rd November – Methodist Hall, K-L
Tuesday 9th November – Hutton Roof Village Hall
Weds 17th November – venue to be arranged
Tuesday 23rd November – The Reading Room at the Institute, K-L
Weds 1st December – Hutton Roof Village Hall
Tuesday 7th December – Rugby Club, K-L
Weds 15th December – The Reading Room, Institute, K-L (Assessments)

We will be covering
Unit 2 of CFR Training Manual, recovery position
Latest news from NWAS, etc
There will be a hands on practice which should be both useful and fun! We aim to get through the business by 8.30pm but you are then welcome to stay for refreshments and optional resusitation practice.
